We made it!

we are here in our hotel, safe and sound.

due to bad weather south of newark, susanna and I sat on the tarmac there for a couple of hours. our plane was scheduled for 4:55 PM and did not take off until well after 7. the rest of the flight was uneventful and we arrived here in costa rica about 10:30. catherine scoped the san jose airport out for us.

they are central time here without daylight savings. the hotel is great here, La Pura Vida. we fell asleep to frogs and woke up to what sounds like parrots and macaws. there are 3 very friendly german shepherds roaming the premises.

i think we are headed to the Arenal volcano later today.

right now we are having some breakfast and awaiting our chariot from the rental car agency.
