On the road

We spent yesterday traveling on from Nosara, first making our way up to Playa Hermosa just north of Tamarindo.

The beach there was peaceful and quiet but all the hotels seemed to be adding on or under construction. there is a lot development going on there. none of the places we looked at were very appealing so we decided to move on to the Arenal volcano.

We took the scenic route from Liberia around Lago Arenal, through the town of Neuvo Arenal and on to La Fortuna. We stayed in a hotel overlooking the volcano last night. Red hot boulders fly out of the top every few minutes and roll down from the summit sending showers of red sparks out. pretty fun . . .

today we are headed to the hot springs at Tabacon, Costa Rica´s number one resort. so far, the clientele looks more like the crowd at White Water to me. Costa Rica´s version of Sliding Rock with the mullets to match . . . we will see.

i have been trying to get some more pictures up, but the internet connections are terribly slow. i just waited for 30 minutes on the last one and it didnt even go through. maybe we will find a place with a decent connection later today or tomorrow.

having a great time, i will try to post at least once more . . .
