"Bompy" Roads...

Well, we made it to Playa Guontes on the Pacific coast. The picture you see of the three us is right on the beach. We drove all day yesterday to get here. The road was quite nice until Paul gave me control of the manual Daihatsu Terios. At that point things got a little hairy. "Bompy" to say the least.

There were holes in the road big enough to hide a large bovine as well as containing enough water to fill a large swimming pool. There were times when I missed a hole. At that point I had to go back and make sure I hit it...So this road lasted about 25 miles. Catherine was able to take one for the team and ride it out in the back. What a sport!

During our roadtrip we encountered many roosters and cows as well as three piglets (maybe even the three little pigs. At one point we had a cow in oncoming traffic. He was polite enough to let us pass before heading to greener pastures.

This morning we woke up to Paul shaking a lug wrench outside our little hacienda. We followed him to the Terios to find our back left tire completely flat. Catherine was the only one who knew how to change a flat, since she does this for a living and she did a stellar job replacing it. Now we are off to get our flat patched. We will be in this area another night or dos...

Posted by Susanna or Susana as they call me here...Oh, and Pablo did the changing of the flat.
